GIANT GROUND SLOTH

Giant ground sloth have to be among the strangest mammals that ever walked on Earth. It  lived in South America during the Peistonae until just few southands ago.  three different species of ground sloth lived in south America until around 13000 years ago: Nothrotheriops, Megalonys and Paramylodon. Paramylodon was the largest of the three, it was 18 feet tall and it weighted 1600 kg. approximately it was as big as an elephant. It had a robust skeleton whit a large pelvic girdle and broad muscular tail. It will stand using the strong legs and its tail to form a tripord. It has a long tongue to catch the higher leaves. It was extinct because of a climatic change that affects the specie and some belive it was hunted by humans.

It is similary a elephant, but it can stand up ;) I like it is......... BIG!
